VIP is a virtual host or any other character. Its image is generated by the computer and shown on the screen. Its movements are precisely controlled by an actor hidden from viewer’s sight. This actor sees and hears its interlocutors which enables him efficient and natural communication. The VIP can imitate human behaviour including the gesture and mimics. It can also adopt a shape of a cartoon character (like Shrek or Batman). The „Hollywood-effect” is achieved by supercomputers and state-of-the-art equipment.
How it works?
The actor hidden behind the scene uses multiple devices such as gyroscopes, accelometers or other sensors attached to his body. His movements are converted into a stream of data which is analysed by the computer which animates the character according to this data. As a result the viewer sees naturally moving computer-generated person.
Everything is real-time generated. It means that each tiny movement of an actor is immediately transferred onto the computer generated image.
On the stage, in front of the screen showing the VIP a microphone and a camera is located. The actor sitting backstage sees and hears his audience. He can talk with them, answer the questions, turn to particular interlocutor and lead a conversation. The audience quickly forgets that the host is only a digital image and sound. Virtual and phisical world is merged into an unique experience.
